Current Social Development Activities

• Educational and outreach campaign
  • We strive to share our skills, with both the state government and communities in the resin regions, on how to identify and explore the end use of the resins. We help them understand the value of the final product, and how its value can be increased by processing it i.e distilling the resin into a product etc.
  • We inform State and federal government about the plight of the communities in the resin regions and give them advice that they can use when engaging International organisation that assist in the mentioned industry
  • Restoring Puntland’s glory, as, for many years, the once famous and popular source of resin, hence also restore the connections with the frankincense Industry.

• Community training on the protection of the resin trees
  • We are exploring ways in which we can provide training to communities, on how to better cultivate their resin trees and scope their

• Engaging with International organisations
  • With the presence of large international organisations, in the country, that deal with community economic development, its important that they create a resin development portfolio that deals with developing resin tree farming communities.

• Women empowerment and Youth education
  • In recognizing women as the backbone of the house, its one of our principles to provide them with jobs that will enable them to earn an income in order to support their families. We also teach women new skills so they can advance their ability to participate in new sets of trade elsewhere and encourage them to become enterprenuers.
  • Young people are the future our country, hence helping them get basic or even higher education is an objective to our company if not a national duty drive. Our company provides scholarships to the youth so as to get education in major cities in Puntland i.e Bosaso and Garowe.

Conclusion

Our company’s mission is to revive centuries old national custom and to produce ISO compliant resin product. This can only be achieved by being an exemplary company that grows together with the community especially in areas where we harvest our resin.

One of our objectives is to understand how to increase the returns of our resin products through research and analysis. Our continued advocacy for a fair trade and better coordination with other resin seller in Puntland is also a determined drive of our values.

We continue to realise each day forward, how best the next generations to come can benefit from the resin industry to sustain their livelihood, maintain the environment and ensure continuity for generations and generations to come.
